Things That I Am Thankful For

We live in a world filled with all kinds of technology.  Things we use and rely on everyday like TV, cell phones, computers, the Internet.  In fact, my business relies on technology.  It is hard to imagine going through the day without the constant whir, buzz or ring that our gadgets provide.  Most people would find it devastating to be without their cell phone, TV or the Internet - even for part of a day.  And I am thankful for technology...

But, the things that I am most thankful for don't whir, buzz or ring - they are they things that add to or complete my life.

I am thankful for my mom (who is one of the least technical people I know), my family, my friends (another non-technical bunch) who love and support me without question and without hesitation.

I am thankful for my business partner who is conscientious, hardworking, reliable, honest and a great guy.

I am thankful for my dogs who provide unconditional love and unending entertainment.

I am thankful that I live in such a great country (who is currently in need of a major pep talk) and the military men and women who protect, or have protected the freedom that we enjoy.

I am thankful for the blessing of waking up every morning and the opportunity to bless someone else's life.

There are so many things I could list, but it is evident to see that my greatest gifts, my most cherished blessings, the things that I am most thankful for has nothing to do with technology.

So, as we prepare to celebrate Thanksgiving this week, take a minute to use that cell phone to call someone special or get on the computer and send someone a note of thanks.

Technology is not what we should be thankful for...it is just a means of sending the message.  But giving the message in person beats technology ten-fold!  So, put down the remote, mute the cell phone, step away from the computer and tell someone special how thankful you are.  Throw in a hug...and it's like extra whip cream on that third piece of pie!

Happy Thanksgiving to you and your families!
